What exactly is an Alaskan cruise? What do you do on a cruise and how long are you gone? These are some of the questions people may ask when looking into a cruise for a vacation as opposed to taking a more traditional vacation. On a cruise, you have most everything provided for you. Yes, this means your food, room, and ports of call. There are extras you can pay for, like alcoholic or soda beverages on some cruise lines, and day excursions when you pull into the ports, but your entertainment is provided. Usually you need to get to the starting point, but there are cruises out there that can include this as well.
So what would you do if you went on an Alaskan cruise? One of the things you would want to know is where do you stop along the way and what do you do when you get there? In Nome visit the Carrie M. Sitka has an Alaska Raptor Center and Whale Park and don't miss the Archangel Dancers. You may stop in Valdez as well. A lot of cruises start or stop here. You can see Worthington Glacier, Keystone Canyon Pack Trail and Solomon Gulch. Also, don't miss the Last Frontier Theatre Conference.
So what if you want to just hang out on the ship? What is there to do? The cruise is designed to keep everyone entertained, regardless of your age, whether you are single or with a family, and no matter what your wants are. If you crave socialization, then sit back and prepare to enjoy the formal dining and shows provided. What type of shows? Well, not your average theatre variety! Cruises provide Las Vegas style shows, magic shows, singers and musicians. There are varieties to choose from, depending on the atmosphere you are looking for.
